Juan A Serna, CVT
Besides Obtaining a Certified Veterinary Technician license from the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, Juan is also certified in small animal first aid and CPR by Pets America. He has 20 years of experience in the veterinary field including practice in emergency critical care and specialty work in internal medicine. Juan also has a Bachelor’s and Masters degree in music education and performance from Southwest Texas State University. His pets include 2 Chihuahuas named Linda and Baby, a 14 year old German Shepherd named Lady, and a Sharpei mix named Dakota.
Mark Maldonado, Lead Veterinary Technician
Mark was born and raised here in San Antonio. He has 12 years experience as a veterinary technician and is very talented and skilled in this profession. He comes to us from Phoenix, Arizona where he was a certified dental/lab technician for 3 years. Besides being a big sports fan, especially for the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys, he enjoys spending time at church. He has recently converted to Christianity and devotes his time leading the church choir. Mark has 5 children including 4 daughters and 1 son. He is also a proud owner of a Rottweiler named Kylo.
Matthew was born and raised in San Antonio. He graduated from Smithson Valley High School in 2014. On his free time, he enjoys spending valuable time with friends and family. Matt has three Labrador Retrievers named Blondie, Kelly, and Hershey, and a Shih-Tzu named Penny. Matt loves working with animals and always looks forward to helping clients and their beloved pets.
Ursula is from San Antonio, Texas. She brings to us over 10 years of experience. Eight of those years was with a specialty practice. She attended San Antonio College and The University of the Incarnate Word, where she received a degree in Biology. She is the proud owner of 2 small Chihuahuas and 3 cats. She loves spending her spare time with her son, Elijah. They love bird watching and working on her flower beds.
Riley was born in Waco, Texas, but moved and was raised here in San Antonio. He started working in the veterinary field right after graduating from high school in 2012. He now has 5 years experience and enjoys his working with animals. He is the proud owner of 1 mix breed dog named Buster and a cute little parakeet named Chico.

Lyn’ee Wertz-Andrews, Lead Receptionist
Lyn’ee was raised in the Air Force. Being in a military family, she grew up in many states in the U.S. and in several countries. She has 19 years of experience in the Veterinary field. Nine of those years were spent as a Veterinary Technician in the Army. Her hobbies include watching movies and painting. Lyn’ee has a house full of beloved pets including 4 cats, 4 dogs ( Chihuahua mixes ), and “Jimmy”, a bearded dragon!
Analisa was born in Omaha, Nebraska and was raised here in San Antonio, Texas where she currently resides with her life partner of 4 years and many beloved pets that include Denali; a rescued Amstaff mix service dog in training. Dobby; also rescued. Dobby is a “Chug” (Chihuahua/pug mix), Samson; a handsome Rhodesian Ridgeback, Bella; the shih Tzu, Tituba; the kitty cat, and Falcor; a 3 year old bearded dragon. In her spare time, Analisa is a dog trainer, focusing on behavior modification and rehabilitation. She believes in rehilibating animals and “training” people. She enjoys weekend road trips, camping, and just spending time with her family and fur babies. She has big dreams of traveling, exploring the open road, and eventually owning and settling down in a self-sustaining plot of land somewhere up north. She is a volunteer at animal control services and works with the Trap, Neuter, Release program in hopes of controlling the feral cat population in San Antonio.
Coby Allen, ABKA, CPCT, Lead Kennel Technician
Coby is the Kennel Supervisor. He was born and raised in San Antonio and has carried his love for animals to his professional work since 1996. He has a wide knowledge of both domestic and exotic animals, working in the animal industry in many capacities from grooming, research, as well as a surgical veterinary technician. He spent the last two years in Massachusettes where he was a keeper at a local zoo and is now happy to be back in his home town working as a kennel supervisor. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his seven year old dog Coco; a pit bull he rescued. He also shares his love for animals with his son Nathan, the pride and joy of his life. Together they enjoy exploring the outdoors, camping, tubing, and fishing.
